Recent Work

I am currently working on a new project which is temporarily called The Stones of Bray. Inspired by the scholarly book, The Stones of Bray, by Canon George Digby Scott of St. Paul's Church,(Cof I)Bray, I am researching the geology of Bray Head, Naylor's Cove, and the Dargle River as well as significant stone edifices including monuments, stone walls, church ruins, standing stones, gravestones, that are to be found in the vicinity of Bray, Co. Wicklow. I will experiment and use a variety of processes and methods to describe the 'Stones' in a new and different light.

Topophilia

I selected the local newspaper "The Bray People" as a material means of embodying these perceptions and values. I linked the geology of Bray Head with the Bray newspaper thus combining an affective bond between people and place through the expression of my paper sculptures, the Striations.

Wicklow I use painting and screenprinting to rework and remake the photographic images. Sections of images were examined, expanded and blown up to reform the images into new and different realities. Repetition of the images underscores the visualisation of obsessiveness.
